The International School of Phuket (ISP) was founded in 2008 and is in Rawai in the heart of Phuket. The school was established by a group of disillusioned parents who felt let down by the affordable international education available to students at the time. ISP was initially only a kindergarten, but in 2010 the primary school was opened, and by 2013 the school had been awarded Cambridge International School status and follows the British curriculum, recognised as being one of the best by universities worldwide.
ISP welcomes students of all nationalities from the age of two to year 6 when many pupils will go onto an international school. The teaching staff are internationally qualified and are supported by Thai teaching assistants. As the International School of Phuket is focused on younger children, many activities are related to play and fun and its educational benefit. The party and fun area is enjoyed by all students, especially when there is a birthday! Team building and making friends is an integral part of ISP philosophy, along with, of course, classroom learning.
The school offer students an extensive range of extracurricular activities, including sports, music and languages. Some of the activities are organised and run by the teachers, while others are provided by professionals outside of the school. Lessons are in the English language with additional Thai, Russian and English classes available. Pupils leaving ISP will have built an excellent foundation to prepare them for life at secondary school or High School. In 2021, the school changed hands, and there are plans to renovate the school’s infrastructure.
