The British International School Phuket (BISP) was established in 1996 and stands on a 44-acre site in Muang in the heart of Phuket. The school also offers boarding facilities with eight boarding houses. They have approximately 850 students of different nationalities, all of whom wish to follow the British Curriculum, acknowledging that it is one of the most widely respected in the world. They follow the Cambridge Examinations Board with students studying for iGCSEs or, in some cases, following the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.
The school welcomes students from early years (age of 2) until A-Levels (18 years), and all teachers are internationally qualified with an average of 17 years of teaching experience. The school has an exceptionally low staff turnover rate, and in each lesson, there will be at least one teaching assistant. The school has outstanding facilities in all respects, which undoubtedly helps the learning experience. They take a holistic approach to study, focusing on academia, ensuring that pupils fulfil their potential. However, they also believe in providing a broad education to ensure that students develop into well-rounded individuals.
The school has an exceptional record of academic achievement, with students going on to some of the UK’s top universities and around the world. BISP employs two full-time university counsellors to give pupils the best opportunity of attending the right university. Of course, being a boarding school, the school has an excellent pastoral care department that takes care of all students’ health and wellbeing. They encourage pupils to be self-confident and independent, enabling them to become leaders of the future.
